Walking Along Your Path #2

I shared this article with you  in 2013, but received so many positive comments I decided it was worth sharing again with a few changes. When you read it, open up to the profound insights that can make such a difference in your life if you internalize the truths.

A few years ago I came across the following text and found the message both simplistic and deeply profound, so I am sharing it with you as I begin this article.

Chapter 1

I walked down the street. It looked like an interesting street.
There’s a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in. I am lost. I am helpless.
It isn’t my fault. It takes forever to find my way out.

Chapter 2

I walked down the street. It looked like an interesting street.
There’s a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don’t see it – denial.
I fall in again. I can’t believe I’m in this same place.
But it is my fault. It takes a long time to get out again.

Chapter 3

I walked down the street. It looked like an interesting street.
There’s a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it there. I still fall in.
It’s a habit but my eyes are wide open now.
I know where I am and it is my fault.
I get out immediately.

Chapter 4

I walked down the street. It looked like an interesting street.
There’s a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.

Chapter 5

I walk down another street.

You’ve all heard the statement – doing the same thing over and over but expecting a different outcome is insanity. Yet what do we all do so many times but that exact thing – repeat the same things that don’t work but hoping it will work this time. In our lives we often continue down the same path, ignoring the signs that something isn’t working for us and that our choice isn’t getting us where we want to go. Yet we ignore it and continue on doing the same thing.

Did you know that people often experience an internal battle between their subconscious and conscious mind? The subconscious mind makes up 90% of you and the conscious mind only 10%. Your subconscious is an amazingly powerful tool that you probably never think about using, even though it is being used 24/7. What is it that drives the subconscious mind? Passion. Emotions. Feelings.

You’ve long known about using affirmations to create what it is you want, but you’ve undoubtedly heard that it’s the feelings that bring those thoughts/affirmations into manifestation. And this is exactly true. You can say all the pretty words stating that you know you are powerful and confident, but if your subconscious feels unworthy or defective from limited beliefs you’ve accepted as truth, you will not be able to create the outcomes that exude confidence and power. Your thinking patterns become a habit that are often hard to break, so you continue to walk down the same street into the same hole as indicated in the text above.

However, you have the power of choice. You can decide to consciously look deep inside of yourself and see what needs to be changed. You are capable of making changes once you can see what needs to be changed. There is no direction on any path that has to remain as is; the power to change direction is always in your hands.

Perhaps everyone around you is moving in one direction and you feel obligated to do the same. Following the crowd can be opposite of what you should do. The key is to look at the results in your life. Are they what you desire? You are the creator of those results so the responsibility will be up to you to change direction if you want a different outcome.

None of us are boxed into a particular way of doing or being; it is always our choice that placed us there. Perhaps it looked interesting so you continued to try the same street in hopes there would be different results. But you’ve discovered the same results keep happening over and over, so now you know deep inside that you want something different. Knowing this, how do you move forward?

First and foremost, you must have a clear vision of what you want. I imagine you’ve heard this said to you so many times, yet have you listened? And while the vision is the very first step into making changes, it will take you adding feelings to the mix to manifest your desires. You must communicate to your subconscious mind your true desires, and in order for the subconscious mind to listen to you, you must put the feelings into your communication.

Let’s talk about abundance and prosperity for a minute. I haven’t met anyone in recent years who doesn’t want more abundance in their life, especially if they have lost their home or retirement fund or job. As long as that person remains in a place of feeling like a victim or feeling lack in their life, they are telling their subconscious mind through their feelings (vibrations) that this is the life they want. The subconscious mind doesn’t recognize words, it recognizes feelings. So in order to change circumstances in your life, you have to create the feeling of having what you want already.

Now that can be hard to do until you understand this. It is why you must keep your desires alive by deciding to feel what it will be like when you walk down the other street. If you are desiring a new job, a new home or ways to create income to rebuild what you lost, you must envision being at the new job and feeling how wonderful it is, or seeing your bank account increase by imagining the increased amount on your monthly statements, or what your new home is to look like and how awesome it will feel living there. That is how you create the outcome you want and how you are able to wake up from your stupor that repeatedly keeps you falling into the same hole. And this is how you empower yourself so that you can make different choices, namely, walking down another street.

Here’s a recent example in my own life that proved all this explicitly…

We knew we wanted to move early 2014 and had been looking for the right house for some months. Nothing was working and all kinds of glitches kept surfacing, weird ones in many cases. Once we knew our deadline to move was end of February and the holidays came and went, a bit of panic set in as nothing suited our desires – what we had put out as the perfect house for us. At first we fell back into worry and doubt, but thankfully quickly remembered we had to shift our thoughts to what we wanted rather than the worrisome details of how it could happen. So we once again envisioned and surrendered.

Suddenly, out of the blue, a house came on the market that looked perfect. I immediately scheduled a viewing the same day. It appeared to be the house for us and we placed a contract the same day it was listed. Since so few house were available, multiple contracts would come in and the seller could pick and choose who they wanted as their buyer; we had lost several houses in this way. So would it work this time? We kept saying “If this is the house meant for us it will come to be; if not, something better will appear.”

Obviously it was meant to be our house, according to what we had envisioned and surrendered to appear in divine timing. All worked with ease and we now live in the house we had envisioned for months. It taught me another lesson in faith and believing everything is possible if I put that thought inside of me along with the feeling of actually living in that house as a manifestation of that dream. I had to step out of trying to work out the details and allow the universe to take over, and that’s when it worked in perfect order!

Change isn’t easy for many people, yet change is the dynamic of life – ever changing. If you plan to keep things as they are, life has a way of bringing change to you unexpectedly. But as always you have the power of choice – whether to go one way or the other way. It is a no brainer that continually walking along the same path that is not bringing you the desires of your heart is not a good choice, but choosing to step onto a new path – the other street – is where you need to walk.

So have you been walking down the same street for some time now? Are you tired of falling into the same hole? Are your eyes open enough now that you can see this path is not the best road to take, even if you can avoid the hole? Then make the choice today, right now, to walk down another street and create the life you really want and deserve to have! You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
