Feeling Stuck? – How to Get Unstuck

Have you ever been there – in a place of feeling stuck? Of course you have – we all have. It could be you are there right now and don’t know how to get unstuck.

Being stuck is as if you are spinning your wheels and not going anywhere, a picture of the hamster who continuously circles around inside the spinning wheel, wearing himself out but getting nowhere. A great deal of fear is usually attached, as is hopelessness and lack. Perhaps you have slipped into a state of depression over it and virtually see no way out. This is such a common place to find oneself, especially with such massive negativity flourishing around you every day. It is impossible to escape the negativity that is emitted from every angle of the media and what most people say and do, and all that feeds into your thoughts/programming. All of us have been here again and again, stepping into the fear vibrations circulating around us. Feeling stuck simply said, means no forward movement.

Another aspect of feeling stuck is the thought that life is flying by and you are missing out on something. “There has to be more” you may be thinking, because what you’ve experienced thus far leaves you empty, restless and unfulfilled, as if you’ve not really done anything of value with your life. What is your purpose for being here in the first place? Without fulfilling your purpose, it’s a given you will feel something is missing in your life.

Being stuck in life is not a fun place to be. It can create all kinds of emotional symptoms such as worry, restlessness, frustration, anger, lethargy, depression, and great fear, but it always travels into the physical realm with a multitude of symptoms that affect your life. So how do we get ourselves out of such a place and find peace, joy, fulfillment, happiness, prosperity and contentment, and good health?

If has been said there are three myths about being stuck:

1- You need will power and focus to get unstuck

2- You must work harder

3- You have to force yourself to take action

Let’s examine each of these myths and see why they are myths. Do understand that using these as possible solutions to your stuckness will probably make you more stuck.

When you feel stuck what happens? Most likely you see no way out and the entire picture you see is overwhelming. Will power is determination and strength of mind. You may be told to shift your thoughts to positive ones and focus on the good in your life. That’s all well and good, but having been in a stuck place before, I found it difficult initially to shift to positive thoughts, and I bet you have too.

Focusing differently is certainly a way to resolve a situation because remaining in the same energy vibration where the problem originated will not work. Feeling stuck arises from a fear-based vibration of a lower energy, so trying to solve anything in that vibration is pointless. You have to rise above that vibration to a higher one if you ever hope to get unstuck. So how do you do this?

You’ve probably heard over and over that you need to focus on what you want. I’ve tried that as well, but until I learned to surrender my feelings of stuckness, they remained. Once I created the vision of what I wanted and surrendered it to the universe (God, Higher Power), and got out of the way, things began to open up and flow. It works every time, even though it may seem so difficult when you’re in a place of overwhelm and being stuck.  Doing this takes faith, patience, and a knowingness that everything works out if you ‘let go and let God.’

Some people may tell you to simply work harder, but how can that help you if you are like the hamster spinning the wheel around and around? Granted, it probably will take hard work to make something happen once the doors open, but pushing and shoving to get something started when you don’t know which way to go will only create a mountain of stress, frustration, worry and a host of physical symptoms. It’s like going against a strong current – very difficult and often impossible.

Perhaps you are told to just get moving, that if you take action then you’ll be forcing movement and something is bound to work? But isn’t that the opposite of what we know as truth – when something is ready or right for us, then the doors open effortlessly and we can move forward. You can of course take action steps and try to force things into play, but what a bundle of stress plus the fact that it could very well be a total waste of your precious time. Having tried this both ways, I can attest to the fact that trying to force something before it is time, is useless.

When life feels like it is flying by and you are missing something, most likely you are misaligned with your purpose. Perhaps you have no idea what your purpose is or if you there is one for you. Everyone enters this life with a purpose, something they are here to do and complete, but many people never think of what that is or if they do wonder about it, have no idea what it is or how to find it. That’s when you need to go back to surrendering the issue and ask for divine guidance to help you find it. And realize this, you can have more than one thing you are passionate about, and any purpose can change over the years and become another arm of that passion. In the meantime, what do you do?

Here are some tips to help you get started with getting unstuck.

1-  Change one habit every day – do something different. This can be something very small, like driving a slightly different route to work or eating a new food. Begin with some baby steps to createsome movement. We are often creatures of habit and get into our routines, not wanting to change.  But changing one little thing can begin a change that can lead to more movement – you get thepicture.

2- Do something fun. When you feel stuck there is a real tendency to become pessimistic, lethargic and even depressed. It’s long known that stepping away from a situation and doing something enjoyable, and having a good belly laugh, can do wonders for opening you up to receive newpossibilities.

3- Raise your vibration from that low energy by focusing on things you are grateful for. Gratitude is apowerful expression of love and can only bring good things your way. Take just a few minutes every day to think of 5 different things for which you are grateful for on that day. Again, it can be something as small as finding a great parking spot or a compliment someone shared on your outfit. Theexpression of gratitude immediately raises your vibration since any expression of love is a muchhigher frequency than fear energy.

4- Do some inner work to see what wrong programming and beliefs you are hanging onto that areinfluencing your stuck feeling. Being attached to destructive programming that you may noteven be aware of, always gets in the way of forward movement. This takes time, but is always partof any healing process. There are multiple ways of doing this so find what resonates with you. I found the Healing Codes and Spring Forest Qigong exceptionally beneficial for me.

Feeling stuck is uncomfortable and creates negative vibrations within you that if kept, will creep into all your life experiences and create the opposite of what you really want. Everyone will experience these energy vibrations from time to time, but you don’t want to hand onto them for very long. Even if you have no idea how to get out of your present circumstances, following the steps I mentioned above can raise your vibration into that of hopefulness and positiveness. You don’t have to know the answer to raise your vibration; you only need to trust that a power greater than you will help you step out of your doldrums and help you move forward in the right and perfect direction. The only thing that can get in your way and block you from getting unstuck, is you!
